First responders are the ones working in the most critical areas, and their rescue vehicles are getting damaged and destroyed often. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 1600 fire trucks were destroyed due to shelling and bombing from russian troops. Fire trucks are a key element to saving lives and critical infrastructure that russia intends to destroy. Lack of equipment may cause a disastrous consequence while fighting with the forest fires, especially in Chernobyl and mined regions, and agricultural fields.
LUkraine asbl has opened a call for action, to obtain 10 Fire Trucks for Donetsk region, following the signed Memorandum with Donetsk Regional Administration.
Every fire truck heading to Ukraine, apart from the existing equipment, will be also filled with emergency consumables and humanitarian aid.
