Tactical Medicine training

Problem

The main causes of death for 80-90% of the wounded at the battlefield are massive blood loss and shock. Injuries that occur in modern armed conflicts significantly limit the time of providing first aid. Death occurs from several tens of seconds to one hour. However, if at least 60% of the battalion’s personnel know how to provide first aid, the chances of survival of the wounded increase dramatically.

Solution

Thanks to support from LUkraine 465 first responders, doctors, border guards, policemen, rangers, territorial defense forces had taken a course “Tactical medicine for Ukrainians” held in Lviv and Striy in April-May 2022. During the training, every participant had a chance to learn how to use tourniquet and bandage, as well as other first aid techniques.
LUkraine asbl is a registered non-profit organization with a public interest status (F 9931) that raises awareness about Ukraine in the EU and around the world and provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
